Professional Photographers in Denver Colorado

Joni Schrantz, that’s (sch-rah-ntz), it’s a mouthful, I know. Photographing people is what I was born to do. I knew at 18 that I wanted to be a professional photographer. I went to college, earned my BA in Art: Photography emphasis, shot for a daily newspaper as a staff photographer. After about a year, the paper closed, I started shooting weddings and portraits, suddenly I was composing shots and directing people, the total opposite of photojournalism, so I quickly learned a new skill set. Because of my journalism background, I developed a style of shooting natural looking portraits, images that appear candid, but often aren’t.

I am constantly talking to my subjects, giving feedback, and lots of direction. If you’re a natural, awesome, I’ll give less direction, but I realize most people need to warm up to the camera a bit, so I do my best to help you do that.

Personality wise, I’m outgoing, laid-back, and I keep things pretty lighthearted most of the time.

I’m a originally a west coast girl, from central Cali, moved to Northern Cali for college, Portland Oregon after that, and most recently Denver Colorado. I’m married, no kids yet, but we have a dog we treat like our child. We’re done moving… we’re in Denver to stay!
